The Director of Communications for will work to support the church and ministry leaders in conveying their vision and communications to appropriate audiences across all media.
QUALIFICATIONS:
--Must be a creative and motivated self-starter, detail oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking, meeting deadlines, and flexibility when required
--Strong written communication skills
--Graphic design and photography skills preferred
--Work experience relevant to required duties
--Some college required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
--Proficient with technology tools and social media. Proficiency in WordPress a plus
--Desire to serve a church; Familiarity with the United Methodist Church, or other mainline Christian organizations preferred
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
--Support each ministry area with appropriate publicity, advertising, and promotion within the congregation and community to include social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), brochures, postcards, signs, etc.
--Produce weekly bulletin and electronic newsletter and other promotional materials in collaboration with key staff and parishioners with a high level of professionalism
--Attend weekly staff meetings
--Attend Sunday worship to photograph and promote news, and make appropriate announcements to congregation
