Franklin Square Group -- Policy Analyst

The Franklin Square Group is seeking a Policy Analyst to support the firm in crafting client deliverables and monitoring congressional and federal policy activity. This position will work closely with the firm’s Director of Policy and Research and interact with the entire Franklin Square team. The ideal candidate has an interest in technology policy and strong communication skills that are essential to supporting Franklin Square’s technology industry clients. This position is in-office and based in Washington, D.C.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Monitor relevant technology legislation and regulation
● Provide timely research on policy matters
● Prepare summaries for congressional hearings and markups
● Draft weekly written client and issue updates
● Assist in updating and maintaining issue-specific legislation trackers
● Monitor and catalog key policy articles, research, and data points
● Participate on client calls as needed
● Attend tech policy events, conferences, and webinars
● Support the Franklin Square team on client fly-ins and executive visits
● Assist in stakeholder advocacy efforts

Skills and Qualifications:
● Self-starter with a “can do” attitude
● Willingness to learn about new issue areas and develop analytical skills
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Superb organizational skills and ability to multitask
● Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
● Ability to work in a timely and careful manner
● Bachelor’s degree required
● 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in governmental policy
● General knowledge of technology policy issues such as AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, privacy, content moderation and digital assets is a plus
● Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and manage priorities
● Growth opportunities available commensurate with employment and merit
