A minimum of six to eight years experience in government relations, public policy advocacy or related fields, with a focus on cable, media and/or telecommunications is desired. Staying with the telecom beat – the folks at Cablevision are looking for a Secretary (search DC location or use req. ID 7602BR) to set up and run a small office in the Washington DC area. Besides their sizable NYC-area cable operation, Cablevison owns Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and Newsday.

The US Apple Association would like to pick a new Director, Industry & Regulatory Affairs. Responsibilities include management of economic information program, regulatory representation, and program budget and committee work. Vienna, Va. location.

Today’s specials at the National Restaurant Association: Lobbyist & Online Executive Editor positions. They’re looking for substantial Capitol Hill experience for the lobbyist slot – and eight years of online writing experience for the Online Editor position. (Eight years? That seems awfully long, given the relatively short history of the web as we know it.)

The Tri-State Generation & Transmission Association helps keep the lights on for over one million customers in Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming (yes, I know that’s four states). They’re in search of a Federal Government Relations Manager with legislative/policy experience related to energy and electrical co-ops. This listing references a Westminster, CO job location, but I have seen a possible DC-location for this job mentioned in advertisements.

The Biotechnology Industry Association has cast their ballot for a Director of Federal Government Relations with a Democratic background. Health care experience is required, a JD, Masters or other advanced degree would be nice.
