The General Services Administration has a place open for a Regional Director of Public Affairs and Special Events – and the region is question is the DC-area. Successful applicant will serve as an agency spokesperson, help develop position papers/reports, oversee are PR activities, and manage local GSA events and ceremonies. Salary range: $115k-$149k – ID WA051DE09 – apply by Jan. 6.

Although none are Washington-based, we happened upon a basket of interesting opportunities with Disney. There are a lot of internship and grad/MBA opportunities to be found searching around there, as well.
The National Community Pharmacists Association seeks a Vice President, Government Relations. Side effects may include leading federal, state & regulatory advocacy efforts and managing association’s government affairs staff. Do not take with less than ten years congressional staff/relations experience related to healthcare.

Are you the type of person who likes to manage association communications activities, including content development, technical writing – along with working on websites, newsletters, press releases, policy briefs, grant applications, and member updates? If yes to these questions, perhaps you’re cut out to be Manager, Communications & Programs for the Clinical Research Forum. Three to five years communications/public policy experience sought. The American Association for Health Freedom protects the consumer's right to choose and the practitioner's right to practice integrative/alternative medicine. They’re in search of a Health Freedom Advocate to help advance these interests before Congress, regulators, state legislatures, and the media. More AAHF info here – looks like dietary supplement issues are also important for them.

Back to the halls of academe? If you have an MPA or MPH, you might be able to land the Public Administration Instructor slot at DC’s Southeastern University (est. 1879). A Ph.D. or DPA would apparently earn you even more consideration, however.

CSPAN has a spot in the schedule for a Web Editorial Manager. Duties would include ensuring CSPAN.com content is in sync with their programming, and producing relevant headlines, taglines and copy for the site. Public affairs, journalism and web production experience all helpful.

There are a number of relevant-sounding opportunities at the National Wildlife Federation – including Sr. Global Warming Legislative Representative – Sr. Director of Corporate Relations – Sr. Manager Grassroots Operations and more (including administrative positions). A few, for you, at Pew: the Pew Charitable Trusts are looking to retain an Administrative Assistant, Pew Center on the States for support duties, including a heavy dose of scheduling conference calls and meetings around a diverse set of calendars and availabilities.
