AARP is looking to implement a program to build awareness on long-term care issues with boomer women and need a Campaign Specialist to help make it happen. Winning candidate will take on a broad range of activities to advance the program among internal and external stakeholders and audiences.

Are you ready to challenge the status quo, make a difference and create superior client value? If so, lobbying & govt. relations firm the Carmen Group seeks resumes from Proven Policy Experts like yourself – particularly if you’re experienced in legislative affairs related to these subject areas: banking, finance/insurance, education, energy, international, labor, or transportation.

Travelers Insurance seeks an Executive Administrative Assistant (search using req. ID: 788141 or DC location) to manage particularly complex (they use that word three times) activities supporting their government relations operation. They also note: decisions are made in situations in which there are no established procedures. I can’t decide if it all sounds scary, or perhaps kinda fun.

Looking for an entry-level government relations position? Healthcare giant Humana describes their Government Relations Specialist as just that. You’ll assist the Humana GR office with a smorgasbord of scheduling, correspondence, filing and reception work.

Two positions available with Restore America’s Estuaries: Director of Government Relations & Communications Specialist. The DoGR will serve as communications Specialist as lead liaison to Congress and Federal agencies; the CS will manage RAE’s strategic communications activities and help build and project the groups brand to external audiences.

Science Applications International Corporation – perhaps better known as SAIC – is in the market for a Vice President, Community Relations to join them in their McLean offices. The prospective Veep will manage community outreach and philanthropy, along with government relations (local, I suppose), and public volunteer efforts – all to promote SAIC’s goodwill towards the community.

The Physician Insurers of America seek a Government Relations Representative/Lobbyist for the standard cocktail of legislative intelligence-gathering and outreach to Congress, the Administration, coalition partners and association members. Experience with tort reform, insurance regulation, and healthcare issues are a plus.

A large nationwide non-profit is sending out a call for a Vice President of Public Policy with senior healthcare experience – retirement and medicare/Medicaid related issues being particularly relevant. Seven to ten years government relations experience is required, along with executive management and healthcare background. Search via the Mergis Group.

A lot of healthcare related jobs in today’s edition – and here’s one more: Director of Government Affairs for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores for lobbying, coalition work, producing legislative reports/updates and making occasional stops on the fundraising breakfast and reception circuit. Old Town Alexandria location just two blocks from local breakfast/lunch institution Jack’s Place.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is located in two towns besides the titular capitol of the Confederacy – Charlotte and Baltimore. It’s in the latter of these that they seek a Public Affairs Intern for part-time work from January to June (although they appear somewhat flexible on timing). This sounds like an amazingly great opportunity to get a good look inside the Federal Reserve banking system. The are not flexible on the timing of your applications: have it in by 5:00 pm on January 23 .

Mattel would to see a new Director Public Relations this under their Christmas tree. Responsibilities include media relations, crisis/issue management and working with PR agency contractors in support of Mattel brands. No word whether Barbie works in a nearby cubicle in your El Segundo, Ca. location, or if you’ll get a Hot Wheels company car.

Yesterday’s DCPA+CJ referenced Gov. Blagojevich and his alleged pay to play style of governance. Today – we follow up with an actual job entitled Pay to Play Compliance Analyst with an unknown New Jersey-based concern, via Compliance Search Group.

Political web-video purveyors Purple States TV has a three month (or possibly longer) assignment for a News Show Director, starting Jan. 10. You said you “always wanted to direct,” right?

And, finally – here’s a job description for the next Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission from media advocacy group Free Press (more here) – which eventually led me (and you) to their Online Campaign Coordinator job (along with Finance and Major Gift positions).
