An anonymous DC nonprofit research and public policy organization seeks a Director of Communications (use job ID EPPQ4779) with 10-15 years strategic communications & public policy experience. A listing with a caveat: clean energy firm EnerNOC is referenced as looking for a DC-based Senior Manager of Western Regulatory Affairs in this late November VentureLoop listing – however the EnerNOC career page shows no regulatory affairs jobs currently available (several marketing opportunities are available). So, there’s a definite likelihood this position has been filled and/or the description is otherwise outdated, but if you’re looking hard for an energy regulatory job, it may still be worth investigating. Note: we usually wouldn’t list a probably-outdated job like this, but we’re making an exception for an interesting sounding position.

Comprint Military Publications has an immediate opening for a full-time General Assignment Reporter in its DC Navy Yard-area office. Quark &/or PageMaker knowledge a must.

Staying on the news beat – WNAV (1430 AM, Annapolis, MD) is scanning the dial for a News Director (part time news anchor and DJ/board-op slots also available). Some local broadcasting trivia for you – WNAV is partially owned by this TV legend (who is actually a genuinely great guy in real life).

We featured this Director of Regulatory Affairs opportunity with Amgen in our Nov. 17 issue. Now it appears Amgen has added a similar item to their holiday shopping list – an Executive Director for Global Regulatory Intelligence. For more perspective – and to also see a Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs posting, you should probably just search for DC opportunities at the Amgen careers page.

General Dynamics Information Technology is in search mode for a Strategic Communications Program Manager (search using job ID 151381) with 8+ years of communications and public affairs experience for activities including messaging, and web site development, and staff supervision.

Cool internship alert – Intern, Nuclear Public Affairs (Summer 2009) with Dominion Resources in Richmond, Va. Other public affairs/communications intern opportunities – mostly Richmond based – can also be found by looking up intern/coop opportunities at the Dominion career site, as well as another Nuke PA internship in Waterford, CT.

Are you one of those web-development types with a litany of relevant skills in HTML, Java, L, CSS, .Net, ASP, PERL, Cold-Fusion and SQL? And, even better, do you have a DoD security clearance? If so, Preferred Security Solutions is one of the many many many DC-area technology competing for your services – in their case, for this Web Developer position.
