Brent Blackwelder vs. Doctor Greencard

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership has a part time (20 hours per week) paid ($8 per hour) Intern position awaiting one of you people.

The Friends of the Earth need a new friend – specifically, a new President to replace the coolly-named Brent Blackwelder (is that a superhero, cowboy, or evil arch-nemesis kind of moniker?) who currently helms the group. They’re looking for a visionary and passionate leader committed to social/economic justice and environmental activism to manage and represent the group. Search managed by the Explore Company. PS: FOE has a few Intern opportunities, as well.

The Coastal Conservation Association is trolling for an Annapolis-based Executive Director with sales, public relations and banquet fundraising (hello, rubber chicken circuit!) experience. A high energy level, excellent communication skills and some background in fishing and hunting will be key for success in this position. The position does require 2-4 nights per week of travel and the occasional weekend. Here’s a link to the CCA national site and the Maryland chapter, if you want to try and find an alternative resume delivery system besides CareerBuilder.

What is pharmacy compounding? It’s the practice of producing customized, compounded medications prescribed or ordered by licensed physicians or veterinarians and mixed safely by trained, licensed compounding pharmacists. The International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists are looking for an Executive Director to lead the organization and advocate for their 2,000 members. There is a downside for some of you, however – the job is probably based in Houston.

The Charles G. Koch Foundation is in search mode for a Senior Development Associate work with its higher education team, expanding a growing network of major philanthropic partners to help provide funding for academic research and higher education. They also tout opportunities for Associates (year-long program) and Interns.

Paul Shearman Allen & Associates are looking for a Public Relations Specialist to prepare/edit publications, handle media requests, arrange public appearances, and to manage other PR-related activities. What does PSA&A do? Perhaps their web address will give you a clue: drgreencard.com

A little over a week ago (Feb. 10) we featured a bevy of environmental jobs – including this Global Policy Lead, Forest-based Carbon Network Initiative slot with the World Wildlife Fund – and so we apparently just missed their related Communications Director, Forest-based Carbon Network Initiative opening, updated on Feb. 11.

The National Association of Business Economics ISO an Executive Director to run this association representing professionals with an interest in the business economics related data. JDG Associates is playing matchmaker.

MITRE is an independent, not-for-profit corporation engaged in scientific and technical activities for various government organizations. They would like to engage a Communication Lead (search McLean location or req ID 11258BR) to direct, develop, and implement their Healthcare Mission Area communications program. The position will be responsible for strategic communications and messaging, to internal and external audiences.

Some employers proudly tout a certain level of flexibility in their job descriptions. This unknown senior-oriented non-profit, however, wants aspiring Executive Assistant candidates to know that office hours are 9-to-6, so there’s little or no chance you’ll be able to cut out early for happy hour with your peeps. However, they will pay you $55k-$63k for your time, so perhaps you can afford to pick up the next round. Hill experience preferred.

The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents seeks a Legislative Assistant to attend hearings, draft issue papers, track legislation, build grassroots support, and help grow their PAC. Capitol Hill or political campaign experience sought.
