Americans for Campaign Reform - Director of Media/Communications
Americans for Campaign Reform (“ACR”), a national, bipartisan, nonprofit organization committed to the imperative of enactment of voluntary public funding of Congressional and Presidential elections, seeks a Director of Media/Communications to join their team.
ACR was founded in 2003 on the belief that special interest political money cripples our Democracy and puts America’s greatness in peril. ACR’s bipartisan reach and appeal underscore its strength; its focus on working to enact voluntary small donor public financing of federal elections is its hallmark. ACR is allied with organizations across the political spectrum, educates the public and rallies support for voluntary public funding for all federal elections.

S/he will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate ACR’s mission. S/he will also be the media contact for the organization.
The Director of Media/Communications will work closely with ACR’s President, Director of Development, and its external marketing partner on a variety of strategic initiatives.

Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual reports, and ACR’s website.
Coordinate webpage maintenance—ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.
Manage and maintain positive relationships with media contacts; create earned media.
Qualifications:
Americans for Campaign Reform is seeking an accomplished Director of Media/Communications who has at least 5 years of communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” role within a nonprofit or policy-oriented entity, and covering areas such as website content, newsletters, and donor communications. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.
Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies.
Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.
High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
