About Bridges Baltimore
Bridges Baltimore is dedicated to ensuring the long term success of motivated elementary school aged youth from under-resourced communities in Baltimore City. It does this through an innovative 13+ year long program that supports students from elementary school through college and into their careers. Program efforts help students/families (a) find success / navigate obstacles in school, (b) become well-rounded people, and (c) prepare for college and career opportunities.
The Program currently provides year-round support and programs to 260 Baltimore City youth ages 9-22 via its sites at St. Paul’s School (est. 1993) and at Gilman School (est. 2014). Over the last three years, Bridges participants have a 100% high school graduation rate and 80%+ college matriculation rate. We are working hard to formalize post-high school programs - ensuring that students complete their degrees and find right-fit careers.

About The Opportunity
As Bridges continues to grow and impact students in the city of Baltimore it is essential to have a strong and dedicated leader who can further push our communications efforts. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Bridges Communications Specialist will lead external and internal communications including:
• External communications - grant writing, video story-telling, quarterly newsletters, social media, public relations, presentations, brochures, website, and communications strategy
• Internal communications - optimizing on-boarding / training materials for staff, volunteers, and partners, helping program team position work to families, students, and volunteers, and coordinating communications with independent school communications offices
Requirements
• Demonstrated success in writing, story-telling, and in at least one of the following areas - Photography, Video, Website Design, or Graphic Design
• Passionate about our mission, inquisitive, personable, likes to learn, effectively manages time, and thrives with autonomy
• Seeks an opportunity to grow into a role and join a fast paced / growing organization
• Holds an undergraduate degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience

JDA Frontline - Interns

JDA Frontline, a fully integrated public affairs company, is looking for dynamic and motivated students interested in gaining hands-on experience from a group of strategic communications professionals.
Overview
JDA interns work side-by-side with a team that is focused on the evolution of the media environment, public opinion and policy-maker viewpoints, as it plans and executes public policy and issue management campaigns. As an intern, you will be exposed to an ever-growing arsenal of public affairs tools. Interns learn directly from their experience assisting with public affairs, marketing and media activities and developing the skills necessary for an exciting career in public affairs.
Course credit is available depending on curriculum requirements.
Duties
JDA interns assist with activities such as media monitoring, drafting and distributing press releases, client research, campaign development, strategic planning and media relations.
