Try Something New

For your Tuesday specialty programming, we visited our favorite job aggregator sites & used different, narrowly focused search terms (such as AP style and leverage) instead of the broad ones we normally employ (i.e. government relations or public policy).  So, in addition to bringing you the opportunities noted below, we're also reminding you it's a good idea to regularly switch up your search methodologies, routines & habits.

Washington Media Group - Media Relations Professional

Washington Media Group, a cutting-edge public relations and communications firm in Washington DC, is looking for a media relations pro.

We are a unique company with heavy-hitters and a lot of experience. We bring fresh and new tactics to our clients that come from every public, private and non-profit sector. Our work is challenging and rewarding.

What's different about WMG? Our management favors ingenuity and leadership, but our focus is on the team. We encourage, challenge and foster our team members to go as far as they want to grow in the company and the industry.

You are a professional with at least 3-4 years experience pitching story ideas and guests to national and local media outlets, writing and producing content for digital channels, and developing creative ideas for penetrating the earned media landscape.

You have energy, passion and a fresh perspective on media relations, persuasive writing and digital communications techniques. You are looking to get off the Hill or out of a nameless, faceless large shop so you can grow as a communicator and learn new skills. You like to win.

Onto the pay: Pay range for this position is 70-90k plus great benefits. This position will fill fast.

If this sounds like you, we want to talk. Send a resume and cover letter stating your interest to Robert Johnson, president of the Washington Media Group, at rjohnson@washingtonmedia.com
