Program Description

We are currently seeking energetic and proactive full-time or part-time interns to join our team and help support our rapidly growing public affairs practice and research and policy team.

The FTP internship program offers students and recent graduates substantive, practical and hands-on experience working at the nexus between the public and private sectors. Our program exposes interns to the daily workings of a highly reputable government relations and public affairs firm and affords them the opportunity to work specifically with our Public Affairs team. Interns will conduct research, write analyses, draft media content (including social media posts), prepare memos for meetings, and assist principals with client-facing projects. Interns will also work with FTP’s Operations team and gain experience preparing for and attending events, answering phones, and delivering packages to clients and Capitol Hill offices on an as-needed basis.

Summer 2019 Program Details

--Ideal Start Date: May 28th/Ideal End Date: August 30th
--Ideal Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm (32 hrs/week minimum)
--Pay: $13.25/hr (Non-Negotiable)
--Location: Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro in Northwest Washington D.C.

Qualifications for Public Affairs Intern role

Ideal applicants have experience in media, communications, federal government, or public policy. They must have a keen attention to detail and exceptional writing abilities and interpersonal skills. Political experience, including work on Capitol Hill, within the executive branch, in-state/district offices or political campaigns, is preferred. Qualifications for Research & Policy Analysis Intern role

The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment is a plus.
